Confession

Hi folks.

Well here it is, my first short movie starring the very talented Richard Collins. Written and directed by myself, camera by James G Wall and produced by Summer Snow, it runs at just over 5 minutes and is called Confession. The storyline - A man reveals his deepest darkest secret which will live with him forever.

Amazing is just one of the words I could use to describe how I felt when the finished film was posted on YouTube. It has reached 300 views which isn't bad but more would be nice. I'm not going to lie, I would love it to go viral and I hope this is the first of many.

Here it is for you to watch. If you like it, please feel free to leave a comment and share the film.

Thanks for watching and until next time, I bid thee farewell.

There's no business like showbusiness!!

Hi Folks.
Well it has been a while hasn't it?
I thought I would do something different this time and let you all know what I have been up to lately.
Last year a good friend of mine made a film and was in desperate need for some extras. Of course I agreed to be one, went to the set the following day and then basically spent the rest of the shoot helping out behind the camera. I must confess it is my absolute dream to have a career making movies so absolutely loved helping out on this one.
The film was released a few months ago on YouTube and received rave reviews and over 5000 views. For those of you wishing to watch it, the film is called "The Truth About Romance" and is excellent.

Since then, I have finished writing scripts for a film trilogy, a ghost story and my first short movie called Confession. The latter has been filmed with me as Director and will be available to watch on YouTube this coming Monday.
More recently, I have been involved in the making of a new web series called "Two Guys & Her".
Written and directed by the very talented James G Wall (who also made The Truth About Romance) and starring James and the equally talented Jennifer Durrans and Jordan Greenhough, it is a hilarious series based on three housemates and the crazy things they get up to.

Episodes one to four are available to watch now as well as some very funny outtakes. I hope you find them just as funny as I did.

So what is next I hear you all ask? Well there are another six episodes of Two Guys to make, the premiere of Confession and I am currently re-writing my earlier confessions in the hopes of publishing them. After that, who knows?  I would love the opportunity to make my ghost story film a reality.
All I can say is that I am having a blast and in the words of the amazing Ethel Merman "There's no business like show business". You said it girl.

Until next time, I bid thee farewell.

Naveen - part 2

Myself and Naveen had found a quiet spot in Queens Court and were chatting along nicely. His parents still lived in India and he was in the UK on his own.
It was quite amusing listening to him talk, as there were certain words he couldn't quite master. I had to be quite alert when he came across one so I could guess what he was trying to say. There were the odd few where I had to ask him to repeat the sentence. On one, I had to ask him at least three times to repeat it and in the end just pretended I understood. Even though it was a bit tiresome, I did also find it rather cute of him.
He was very attractive but his dress sense, which consisted of a white shirt and black trousers, was not appealing. It was smart but not very trendy and I do like a man who makes the effort to impress.
I asked if he had come straight from work, thinking that maybe this was why he was dressed this way, but he had left his job a few weeks ago and was now unemployed.
This did not bode well with me but I didn't show it and he did say he was trying to find something else.
It was at about this time that the curly fries I had ordered arrived. On the subject of curly fries, can I just say Queens Court..there were far too many. I had ordered for one but there was enough for two or even three people. Still, better too much than too little.
I offered Naveen some of the fries but he declined. Looking at his figure, I got the impression that he was careful with what he ate and fries were a no no.

We ordered another round of drinks and then got down to the serious stuff. I asked why he went for older men and in particular, why me?
He had had enough of one night stands with guys his age who said they wanted more but finished it after they had got what they wanted. I could relate to this.
The reason he fancied me? Well I'd like to say it was because of my dashing looks and Adonis like body but he just said I seemed like a nice guy. It was enough to keep me interested and we continued to chat.
He loved to walk, watch horror films and was studying architecture at university.
I told him quite a bit abut myself and he seemed to be genuinely interested.
We finished our drinks and as we had been in Queens Court for a couple of hours, I asked him if he'd like to go somewhere else? He thought that was a good idea.
I suggested we go for a cuppa and as he had told me he liked to do this, why not take a steady walk to my place? He thought this was an even better idea.
We thanked the bar staff and off we went, though as soon as we set foot outside, I regretted my suggestion to walk. It was freezing!

Want to know what happened next? Tune in next week to find out.

Until then, I bid thee farewell.

Luke - part 2

A little later than anticipated due to Christmas and my Christmas stocking selection but here it is folks, my final blog for 2011.

I could not get Luke out of my head and longed for another night out, hoping that he would be there too.
He had come into Blockbuster a few times since that night and we had chatted but it was hardly the place to tell him how much I liked him.
I got the vibe that he liked me but just didn't have the nerve to act on it.
This went on during several visits to Queens Court and whilst I was happy to be  in his company, I would go home cursing myself for not taking things further. On the odd night that he didn't show, I would go home in such a foul mood. It couldn't continue this way. I had to find out what he thought of me.

Rob worked at Wallace Arnold and was also gay. We had chatted on many occasions about Luke and how I felt about him but was too scared to do anything about it. It was decided that he would join me on a night out so he could meet Luke and find out for me.

The big night arrived and there I was at Queens Court waiting patiently. An hour or so passed and neither one of them had turned up. There was the possibility that Luke wouldn't as I hadn't seen him at Blockbuster to let him know I would be there.
Eventually Rob arrived and by this time I had made my way upstairs. We had a few drinks and it was whilst I was at the bar buying another round that I noticed Luke walking past. I felt giddy inside and couldn't wait to tell Rob he had arrived. It was whilst telling him that I began to feel really nervous. This night could be the night I find out how he felt about me. What if my vibes were totally screwed up and all he wanted was friendship? I decided that if that was what he wanted, then so be it. At least I would know.

Luke was on the dance floor when I eventually met up with him. We said our hello's and had a little boogie and then I told him that my friend would like to meet him. He said ok and we made our way to him.
"Rob.this is Luke. The guy I 've been talking so much about" I said.
Rob said hi and Luke said hi back and then looked at me. I looked back and then that was it. What happened next just seemed so natural. We just started to kiss. I was literally stood next to Rob, snogging the guy I had spent weeks trying to decipher if he liked me or not.  Obviously he did and those weeks were indeed wasted weeks.
We stopped for a second, looked into each others eyes and then started again. My entire body tingled with pure pleasure with each brush of his lips against mine.
We stopped again and I turned to Rob with the biggest grin ever. Luke excused himself saying he needed to let his friends know that he wouldn't be re-joining them
"What just happened"? I said to Rob.
He confirmed that it was obvious he liked me and that I should go with the flow.
We both agreed that the way it happened was very romantic, just like a scene from a 1940's romantic movie.

When Luke returned, it was Rob's turn to excuse himself. He had already told me he was going to do this and would call it a night so we said our goodbyes.
Luke and I made our way to some seats and started to kiss again. In between kisses we chatted. I told him how I had wanted to do this for weeks but was too nervous. He had been the same with me.
It didn't matter that we had wasted all that time. What mattered was that we both now knew how each felt about the other and we were at last acting on it.

Tune in next week to see what happened next in the final instalment of this confession.

Until then, I bid thee farewell and wish you all a Happy New Year..see you in 2012!

My first time on the scene - part 2

So there I was in the Garden of Gayness known as Queens Court. There was no such thing as the smoking ban at that time and it was the first thing I noticed. The first thought that entered my mind was how disgusting my clothes would smell. I had never seen so many people smoking in one place before and it appeared that one had to be a heavy smoker to be gay!
The second thing I noticed was that there were a fair few lesbians here too. Butch, pretty, fat, thin and some just plain ugly.
I made my way to the bar to order a vodka and coke, trying very hard to convince everyone I passed that it wasn't my first time here. The lack of heads turning as I did, made me think I had achieved this.
After paying for my drink, I decided to explore my new and exciting surroundings. This took all of a minute as the downstairs part of Queens Court is rather small and it was full of gay folk.
I then realised that I didn't really know what to do next. Should I try and talk to someone and if I did, how on earth do I start the conversation?
This was too much for me, so I decided the best thing to do was find somewhere to sit. Thankfully, there were plenty of vacant seats and I quickly made my way to one and then did what seemed perfectly natural to me..I pretended to read a text message on my phone. The idea here was that if anyone was watching me, they would see me doing this which would suggest  that I was waiting for someone and that the message I was reading was he, she or them saying they were on their way. The only downside to this was that eventually, it would become obvious I had been stood up.
So there I was, sipping my vodka and coke, pretending to read the odd text message and watching guys walk past and generally crapping myself. Despite this feeling of sheer terror I was so proud of myself that I had done it. I had actually come to a gay bar without the aid of a friend or several drinks beforehand.
After and hour and a second vodka and coke, the nerves really started to kick in. Not a single guy had come up to me. There had been plenty walk past me, some extremely pleasing to the eye too, but not a single look from any of them.
I started to over think things. Why wasn't anyone trying to talk to me. Was I too fat, too thin,  too small, too shy or maybe I was  ugly to them? It was then that I started to panic inside.
This was the biggest night of my life and I wanted some kind of attention to show that I had made the right decision to come here..a chat, a kiss, a glance or even a smile from another guy would have made it worth the while.
Then it happened...He walked past me. I thought I recognised him as he made his way to the toilet but wasn't sure. I kept an eye out for him coming back. A few minutes later and he did and this time he saw me.
Who was this beacon of light, this man who would be my saviour?
It was Rikii!

Tune in next week for the 3rd and final instalment of this confession.

Until then, I bid thee farewell.

Guilty Pleasures

As part of my confessions I will present to you a occasional 'Guilty Pleasure', an unlikely Adonis I find myself attracted to for some truly bizarre reason.

Today I must confess my unholy desires for...

Johnny Robinson

Yes, I know...please don't judge me. I know he's not much to look at but there is just something about Johnny. His personality seems to dazzle me. You just know deep down he's got a heart of gold. He would make you a nice cup of tea on a morning, sing you a little song and have your crumpet buttered just the right amount...believe me, I'm fussy when it comes to crumpet!!!

BUT, he looks like an extra from a bad zombie movie! He dresses and looks like a chav who has just robbed the local Primark. That is, until he speaks and you hear those lady like tones. Look at him! Just give him a black robe and a scythe and you'd think he'd come to take you to meet your maker!

"HEEEEEERE'S JOHNNY!"

But, despite all this, his personality shines through, like a beautiful sunset from a classic Disney movie.

SO, here's the science bit;

As you can see from this pie chart, personality counter balances any flaws. Believe me I always go for hotties, usually way out of my league and definitely younger than me! But somehow Johnny has managed to light a spark. So if you're reading this Johnny...well, the balls in your court!!!
